We had just landed from a long day of shooting and paddling. The night before, howling 60kph winds threatened to flatten our tent. And now some 20hrs later… the water like glass. I specialize in epic experiences. Mostly my own. This was one of those days.

Throwback to this time last year on location @7thrise with @wolfandgrizzly . A shoot of my boyhood dreams, playing with fire and axes in the woods. So many faves but here are a few. Let me know what you think.
I think that the best part about backpacking and camping is sitting down by the fire after a long day of hiking and finally getting to eat dinner. I dream about what I’ll eat all day long: maybe a burger, breakfast for dinner, pasta, or Thai food. Mmmmm.
What I haven’t given much thought to in the past is how I’ll eat it. I’ve had the same plastic reusable camping cutlery set for years, and it has definitely seen better days. So I was excited to try out the new titanium cutlery set from @wolfandgrizzly! This fork and spoon set is lightweight, durable, and DISHWASHER SAFE! This makes post-camping cleanup a lot easier 🙌 I’ve been using it on all my trips over the last month and I love it so far (and definitely retired my old set in favor of this one)!
What do you use to eat in the backcountry? And what’s your favorite camping meal?
At WG, we typically get 20-30 fires out of a single pack, however the exact number will depend on your firemaking experience and the conditions. In summer when it’s hot and dry, you can get away with using a smaller amount. If your kindling is saturated, you will want to use more.
Spark Fiber is made from the pulp fiber of American White Pine, which is a byproduct of sustainably managed logging operations on the east coast of the USA. The pine pulp chips are virgin and are reclaimed from the timber industry. The chips are cooked in a pressurized vessel which naturally sterilizes them with steam to remove any pathogens that may exist. The fiber is then dried and packed.
Although the burn time of Spark Fiber can last a few minutes, you will still need to use kindling when building a fire.
Spark Fiber comes ready to go, straight out of the box. No fluffing, cutting or shredding is needed. Do not squeeze Spark Fiber together into a ball, as you will crush all the small fibers that are important for lighting a fire. Simply remove a pinch from the container and place under your kindling.
