Absolutely. Your Grill M1 comes with a one-year limited warranty that covers your Grill in case of any unexpected malfunction within its first year of reasonable use.

What does reasonable use look like? Well, your Grill is expected to go through fire, so our version of "reasonable" implies some pretty tough conditions, within the realm of common sense. As long as you haven't subjected your grill to something common sense would warn you that you shouldn't do, expect that you can reach out to us and we'll replace your grill free of charge!

We genuinely respect our industry friends who have designed other portable grills. Many have come up with cheap solutions that fit some need or another. We believe one can respect both Kia and Tesla, while acknowledging that each design was built around very different user conditions and requirements.

When we designed Grill M1, we designed it with thought and purpose. Here are just a few of the areas where Grill M1 differs:

1- Number of pieces

Tubular, portable grills typically have 16+ pieces that need to be assembled together. This assembly experience is not only painful, but it means that you've got more pieces to lose out in the field, thereby increasing the risk that the grill will be tossed after a few uses. Grill M1 was built around the thinking that a two-piece design (a rollable surface + frame) would lead to faster setup and teardown time, and decrease the chance that you'd lose a small piece. Fast setup time means you're more likely to be able to use the grill on a short hike, and fewer lost pieces equals a longer product lifetime.

2- Height adjustability

Of the tubular variations out there, one offers no height adjustability at all, while the other offers only an inch or two. Non-tubular, portable grills don't tend to offer any height adjustability at all. But one fire doesn't fit all. In contrast, Grill M1 goes all the way from stay-flat to 8.5".

3- Materials

Of the tubular designs, one uses all stainless, but uses much thinner gauge legs, making it ill-suited for hotter fires. The other has aluminum legs (and lacks in the areas described above). While aluminum is a cheaper material, it also has a much lower melting point, also severely limiting its ability to be used in hotter conditions. Of the non-tubular designs, we typically see materials used that have very short lifespans, such as chrome-plated steel. Grill M1 is made entirely out of stainless steel for corrosion resistance and heat endurance. In the highly unlikely case that something goes wrong with the grill (even after a fire), our warranty terms cover post-fire usage.

4- Weight Capacity

The WG Grill can carry up to 30 lbs, making it ideal for use with cast iron skillets, dutch ovens, etc. Others grills typically carry less than 10 lb.

5- Build Quality and Social Responsibility

When you buy Wolf and Grizzly, you buy quality. We use stainless steel throughout the design, and each component used is made with precision. We believe that the key to building sustainable products is to build ones that last. Grill M1 is meant to be passed from one generation to the next, and to get people outdoors so that they can experience nature and desire to protect it.

6- Accessories

We pay attention to every single detail, in hopes that we cover every base. That's why each Grill includes a carrying case, cleaning tool, drying cloth and allen key. We even give you a bit of spare paracord in case it comes in handy. We hope these accessory inclusions are the tell-tale sign of a company that cares about its customers, because we do.

7- Customer Service

There are humans that run this company. It may just be a handful of us, but we're people that care. We're always around to help, and we don't disappear once a sale has been made. Reach out to us and ask us any questions you have - pre or post-purchase. Our address is info@wolfandgrizzly.com.

Fire Safe FAQ

1. Fire Safe stainless steel frame
2. Fire Safe stainless steel insert
3. Premium carrying case

Fire Safe weighs 910g (2.2 lbs).

The burn area is 29 cm x 28 cm (11.4” x 11”) and has a fuel capacity of 3 L (0.8 US gallons).

Fire Safe can be used with both charcoal and wood. Do not overfill with fuel or use more fuel than can be safely contained, and do not use Fire Safe with gasoline or lighter fluid.

Fire Safe is designed to minimize the footprint that an open fire leaves behind, but does not act as a heat guard for flammable and sensitive surfaces. Depending on the type (and amount) of fuel you use, fire temperatures can get as hot as 1000°! Never light a fire indoors or near/on anything flammable or heat-sensitive. Wood, dry grass and other flammable objects go in your Fire Safe, not under or around it.

Absolutely! We built Fire Safe to be the perfect companion for your Grill M1.
For larger fires or a higher cooking point, set your Grill M1 over the Fire Safe.
For close-up charcoal cooking, you can lay your Grill surface directly on top of the Fire Safe frame.

Fire Safe cannot be put in the dishwasher and should be “dry-cleaned” only using a dish scrubber. This is an effective and fast way of cleaning.

Fire Safe is designed for portability and durability, and to best achieve this we designed all components to be foldable. This foldable design has hinges that can trap water and lead to rust or buildup, especially in combination with post-fire ash or residue. To keep your Fire Safe functioning properly, do not use water to put out your fire (except in emergency situations) and avoid using water in the cleaning process. See our Cleaning and Care section for the best way to clean your Fire Safe and for restoration instructions if it has inadvertently been washed.

Fire Safe comes with a one-year limited warranty that covers any unexpected malfunctions within its first year of reasonable use.

As long as you haven’t subjected your Fire Safe to something common sense would warn you that you shouldn’t do and you’ve cared for it according to the instructions here, expect that you can reach out to us and we’ll replace your Fire Safe free of charge!

Fire Set FAQ

1. Ferro Rod.
2. Striker.
3. Paracord with emergency jute tinder inside.

Fire Set weighs in at 64 g (2.23 oz).

Fire Set works by striking steel against a Ferrocerium rod which produces extremely hot sparks - up to 2980C (5400F)! Just make sure you have a nice bed of tinder and kindling for your sparks to fall into.

For Fire Set to work properly, use a highly flammable material as a catch for your sparks. We recommend a cotton ball dabbed with a bit of petroleum jelly.

Grill M1 Instructions

1. Open Grill frame with elbow slots facing up.
2. Rotate the brace under the surface and secure it over the last rod.
3. Insert surface adjustment corners into elbow slots. Equally.
4. Raise or lower the grill using the height adjustment corners.

1. After cleaning (link to cleaning at your campsite section below), unlatch the Grill surface and unhook the brace
2. Fold the frame until fully collapsed
3. Roll the Grill surface around the frame and pack into the carrying case

Fire Safe Instructions

1. Clear the ground and surrounding area.
2. While Fire Safe has a buffer zone between the ground and the base, avoid placing Fire Safe over or near sensitive surfaces that might be damaged by the heat from you fire.
3. Unfold frame to create a square.
4. Unfold insert with top arrows facing upwards.
5. Align the circular caps to the slots on the frame and drop in place.
6. Lay handles into the grooves at either end of the frame.
7. Place fuel and light safely.
8. Do not extinguish with water, as this will cause distortion. Except in emergency situations, ensure your fire dies down naturally.

1. Ensure fire is completely extinguished and all pieces are cool before handling.
2. Use handles to lift insert out of the frame.
3. Discard waste into a safe container.
4. Slide, shake, or brush clean. Avoid cleaning with water.
5. Fold the insert and frame and slide into carrying case.

Fire Set Instructions

1. Use a cotton ball dabbed with some petroleum jelly as a catch for your sparks.
2. Prepare your kindling, such as birch bark or dry twigs.
3. Scrape off the black paint covering the ferro rod.
4. Set the ferro rod against the cotton ball.
5. Use the top edge of the striker to apply pressure and strike firmly.

Grill M1 Cleaning and Care

1. Use the groove on the cleaning tool to remove residue from the grill rods.
2. Wipe down frame and wires with a soft cloth.

1. Soak you Grill surface in hot water and gently clean the rods with steel wool.
2. The surface of your Grill can also be placed in the top rack of your dishwasher.
3. Use a sponge with soap and hot water to clean the frame.

In between uses, you should use the allen key provided to tighten the bolts on your Grill M1. Regular tightening will ensure they never fall out accidentally or get lost mid-trip.

Your Grill is expected to go through literal fire, and stainless steel will naturally change colour to reflect the temperature it has endured. This doesn’t impact the performance of your Grill, but you can follow these steps to restore the stainless steel finish. Stainless steel is rust resistant, but not rust proof. If rust or residue develops on the Grill frame, you can follow these steps to help restore it:

1. Apply Bar Keepers Friend to your Grill surface using a clean, damp cloth.
2. Use another clean, damp cloth to wipe away residue.

*Always read and follow safety directions on the package of Bar Keepers Friend or any other cleaning products.

Fire Safe Cleaning and Care

1. Except in emergencies, never use water to put out your fire. Always let your fire die down naturally. Hot metal does not play well with water, and the sudden change in temperature can cause metal to degrade or warp. We designed Fire Safe to last a generation and letting your fires cool down over time will ensure that it is able to do so.

2. Use a nylon scrubber (or similar soft scrub or sponge) to rub away ash or residue from your fire.

Avoid using water when cleaning your Fire Safe. Fire Safe is made of 304 stainless steel, which is resistant to rust, but is not rust proof. Water can get inside the hinges and cause them to stick or rust. If your Fire Safe is exposed to water, dry it as soon as possible and leave in a well ventilated environment.
To remove ash or residue,
1. Use a clean, dry cloth to brush off the frame and surface.
2. Remove caked on food or grease by brushing it with a nylon scrubber. If this is ineffective, lay a hot, damp cloth directly over the stain and let it sit. Once stain has softened, scrape off with a nylon scrubber or cloth.

1. To restore the stainless steel finish after use, we recommend using the powder version of Bar Keepers Friend.
2. Apply powder to the surface of your Fire Safe and rub with a clean, damp cloth. This process works best with a bit of warm water, but we recommend using as little water as possible and avoiding getting excess water in the hinges of Fire Safe.
3. Use a damp cloth to wipe away the residue.
4. Use a dry cloth or paper towel to dry your Fire Safe immediately after cleaning. Move the hinges and brush away any excess Bar Keepers Friend powder.

Fire Set Cleaning and Care

Your Fire Set doesn’t need much cleaning or long term care. Make sure to keep the ferro rod and striker clean of any dirt, grease, etc. that could hinder the ability to strike and spark cleanly.
